How does the intervention work?

A rigorous 3-phase workflow, from diagnosis to delivery.

01

Forensic Diagnosis

Our analyzer inspects your file directly in your browser. No data is sent to a server. 100% confidential.

02

Binary Surgery

Manual intervention on the internal structure of your file — where all automated tools gave up.

03

Delivery & Validation

Restored file delivered via Fiverr with detailed intervention report. Opening validation under Microsoft Office / Adobe Reader guaranteed.

◈ WebAssembly Engine 🔒 Local Processing

Binary Structure Analyzer

The analyzer inspects the PK signature, ZIP manifest integrity, central directory entries and detects XML/XREF structural anomalies.

You've already tried everything. Here's why it didn't work.

⚠ What you've probably already tried

  • Microsoft Office's built-in repair tool
  • Renaming the file or changing its extension
  • Stellar Repair, Recovery Toolbox or similar
  • Opening with LibreOffice or Google Docs
  • Restoring a previous Windows version

✓ What we do differently

  • We intervene manually where software stops
  • Each file is treated individually, not by algorithm
  • We recover your content, not an empty copy
  • Result guaranteed or refunded via Fiverr
  • Delivery within 24 to 48h with report included

Data recovered that everyone had given up on

Real cases handled. Automated tools had failed. Our clients got their data back.

DOCX ✓ Resolved in 6h

"My 80-page report opens with an error message since the power cut. Microsoft Word cannot repair it."

Result: 100% of content recovered. Formatting intact.
XLSX ✓ Resolved in 4h

"My accounting Excel file opens empty. 3 years of data. Stellar Repair and all tools failed."

Result: All sheets and formulas restored.
PDF ✓ Resolved in 8h

"Signed contract, corrupted PDF, impossible to open. No tool can even read the file."

Result: Full document recovered, signatures preserved.

FAQ — File Repair Expertise

Why is my Word or Excel file corrupted and unreadable?

Corruption occurs during a write interruption (system crash, power cut, abrupt USB disconnect). A .docx or .xlsx file is actually a ZIP archive containing structured XML files. When writing is interrupted, some XML blocks may be truncated or their pointers invalidated. Microsoft Office then fails at parsing. We manually rebuild these segments while preserving all your content.

Why do automatic repair software fail on my file?

Automatic tools (including Microsoft's built-in repair) work through generic algorithms. They do not understand the semantic context of your document. Corruption in word/document.xml, in _rels/.rels relations, or in xl/workbook.xml requires understanding the OOXML specification and logical reconstruction that only human expertise can provide.

Is my data confidential?

The diagnostic on this site is 100% local — your file is never transmitted to a server. It is analyzed directly in your browser via WebAssembly. If you place an order on Fiverr for manual repair, the file is transmitted only through Fiverr's secure messaging with contractual confidentiality.

What does the intervention report contain?

Each intervention comes with a technical report listing: reconstructed or removed XML nodes, recalculated XREF offsets (for PDFs), restored metadata, and the data recovery level (partial/complete). You receive the repaired file + the report in PDF format.

What can be recovered if the file is heavily damaged?

Even in cases of severe corruption, we can often extract raw text, cell data, embedded images and tables. Advanced formatting (styles, animations) may sometimes be lost, but essential content is generally recoverable if the PK or %PDF- signature is still present in the file.

How long does a manual repair take?

The vast majority of interventions are delivered within 24 hours of receiving the file on Fiverr. For complex cases involving multiple corruptions or large files (several hundred MB), the turnaround can be up to 48 hours. Each order includes a progress update if processing exceeds 12 hours.

My Excel file is corrupted and opens empty — is the data lost?

No. An .xlsx file that opens empty has generally not lost its data — it is simply inaccessible due to corruption in xl/workbook.xml or in the relationships between sheets. The raw cell data (in xl/worksheets/sheet*.xml) is often intact. Our intervention reconstructs the corrupted pointers to make the entire workbook accessible again.

What to do if Word shows "The file is damaged and cannot be opened"?

This message indicates that Microsoft Word detected an inconsistency in the .docx internal XML structure. In most cases, the content is preserved in data blocks — only the structural "skeleton" is damaged. Our process opens the file as a ZIP archive, locates the defective XML nodes in word/document.xml, corrects or reconstructs them, and restores the _rels references.

Can a corrupted PowerPoint file with animations and media be repaired?

Yes. A .pptx file is a ZIP archive containing slides (in ppt/slides/), embedded media (in ppt/media/) and animations. We reconstruct the slide hierarchy, restore media links, and recover animations. Embedded images and videos are generally recoverable unless their data blocks are physically overwritten.

What is the difference between a corrupted file and an encrypted file?

An encrypted file (e.g. password-protected in Office, or encrypted by ransomware) has a different binary signature than a corrupted file. Our diagnostic immediately identifies this case: the PK signature is absent or the file starts with D0 CF 11 E0 (encrypted Office format). We do not handle ransomware-encrypted files, but can recover Office files with simple password protection.

What actually happens when we receive your file

No algorithm. No generic software. Human intervention, file by file.

01

We open your file like an archive

A .docx or .xlsx is not a single file — it is a container holding dozens of nested components. We inspect them one by one. Most automatic tools stop at the first error. We keep going.

OK PK signature found — archive valid [Content_Types].xml — broken references word/document.xml — truncated node line 847 OK word/media/ — 12 images intact
02

We pinpoint exactly what is broken

We do not repair blindly. We read the file by hand and identify the exact location of the corruption. That is what makes the difference between recovering your content and sending you back an empty file.

03

We rebuild. Your content is preserved.

We restore the broken structure around your data — which is often still intact. Your text, your formulas, your images: we recover them. Formatting is preserved in the vast majority of cases.
